Ultimate Guide to Prophetic Calendar Part 3 — Enoch and Dead Sea Scroll Solar Calendars

This is an amendment to my prior video providing evidence for the true prophetic calendar that is necessary if we want to have any hope of identifying the rapture.

In my prior video I made the case that we must test calendars against known appointed times, which means we must identify an appointed time without reference to any calendar. One way of doing that is to compare wonders in heaven predicted by scripture with the calendar. In my prior comparison I left off the Dead Sea Scroll Calendar, and I relied upon third party claims regarding the sign at the birth of Yashua that pointed at the Feast of Trumpets for the sliver moon. Turns out it was on the 15th of the 6th month and not the 7th month, so that potential sign doesn’t align on any known calendars.

Like I said before, all signs are somewhat subjective, so if they don’t occur on any known maps then they don’t help us with this particular test. The Dead Sea Scroll calendar did have the non-canonical feast of “wood offerings” listed on two of those signs, but that feast isn’t connected to the supposed meaning of the sign.

Of particular note, the sign of the Fall of Babylon and the Rapture on October 9th of this year falls on the same feast day as the Full Moon Calendar.

This makes the Dead Sea Scroll calendar #2 by that particular metric.

A related calendar, known as the Enoch solar calendar has 364 “days” in the year plus one or two extra “non-days” at the spring equinox which keeps it synchronized with the sun so that it doesn’t drift. The extra-biblical texts they quote call for a 364 day year, but apparently the spring Equinox isn’t counted as a “day” and once every 4 years there are 2 non-days. This extra non-day every 4 years is also not described in their text directly. That said, the end result is a calendar with 365.25 “real” days on average.

Unlike Lunar Calendars, these solar calendars reset their weeks at the equinox each year so that the weekly sabbath doesn’t drift relative to the feast days. This means Passover always occurs on a “Tuesday” or the 3rd day of their week.

Passover Problems

As I went over in my Part II of this series, the Bible gives clear timeline for Passover that requires it to occur on the 6th day of the week. These solar calendars always place it on the 3rd day of the week which isn’t even close to aligning with a resurrection on the 1st day of the week.

By this single test you can pretty much eliminate these solar calendars as candidates for being the true calendar, but there is more.

Contradicts Scripture

He appointed the moon (yārēaḥ) for seasons (moed): the sun knoweth his going down. — Psalm 104:19

By their calendar, the moed, aka the feast days, are set entirely by the sun and have no relationship at all to the moon. Many of the feast days are defined as a certain day of the month, which means the moon must signal the start of the month. Their logic is that the Hebrew word translated as “New Moon” should always be translated as “New Month” and that the the word “yārēaḥ” should be what refers to the moon. This is just no room for ambiguity with Psalm 104:19.

Interestingly enough, they get away with ignoring this verse because the Dead Sea Scroll copy of Psalm 104 doesn’t contain that verse.

The Essenes would have incentive to not copy that verse given their calendar, but the Jews would have incentive to add this verse given theirs. So you cannot just say “DSS is older” and dismiss Septuagint and Masoretic texts.

Thus saith YHUH, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon (yārēaḥ) and of the stars for a light by night. — Jeremiah 31:35

What are the ordinances of the moon and stars in these solar-only calendars?

Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth (constellations) in his time? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth? — Job 38:32–33

Job, quoting YHUH, clearly states that the constellations have a time and that the rules of the sky have dominion on Earth. These solar-only calendars ignore their rule entirely.

Lunar Sabbath & Solar Calendars

Solar Calendars solve one of the major problems with the continuous weekly Sabbath in a similar way to Lunar Sabbath calendars. First, lets describe the problem.

Imagine you were at the tower of Babel and your family was keeping the Sabbath handed down by Noah. When the languages are changed and everyone scatters, part of your extended family heads east and continues to keep the Sabbath perfectly for 3000 years as native Americans.

Now imagine you and the rest of your family eventually migrate west to England and then to the United States. Generation after generation you keep the count of sunsets perfectly and keep the Sabbath.

When you arrive and meet your long-lost-cousins you will find that those who headed east observed an extra sunset. At no point in the 3000 years did either side of the family lose count or miss a day, but each would be keeping a different Sabbath.

This is true regardless of whether you believe in a Globe or Flat Earth. Imagine you could travel at the speed of the sun (about 1.4x the speed of sound), if you went west then the sun would never set. If you went east then it would set twice as fast. By the time you return home after traveling the path of the sun in forward or reverse (notice I am accommodating flat earth perspective here) you would have passed the sun twice.

It is easy to visualize this as two people and the sun on a track.

It doesn’t matter how fast or slow the people move, the one going backward will pass the sun more often than the one going forward. Think about it like relative speed. If the sun is going 1000 miles per hour when you are standing still, then you start walking toward the sun at 3 miles per hour, the relative speed of the sun is 997 miles per hour and your days seem slightly longer. If you walk away from the sun, then the apparent speed of the sun will be 1003 miles per hour and your days will seem shorter.

This proves that the continuous weekly cycle is a tradition of men and that it depends upon the migration path of your ancestors. Therefore, it is not universal for all people. It is a tradition by definition, because the only way to know it is to be told it from your parents.

As far as I am concerned, this is incontrovertible proof that Saturday cannot be the true Sabbath because it is impossible for two people to keep it going all the way back to Adam if their ancestors migrated in opposite directions.

To resolve this, they would have to identify an international dateline from scripture, and then they would have the problem with how people on the other side of the world could observe the start of the month from that location without speed of light communications.

How Solar Calendar’s Sabbath

By restarting the weekly cycle at the start of each year, these solar calendars use the sun to calibrate the start of the week and therefore when the Sabbath occurs. Every so often they have to add an extra day while waiting for the equinox to arrive after their 364 day “fixed” schedule. Sometimes they wait 1 day, sometimes they wait 2. The equinox arrival time will be like a moving international dateline.

When the two ancestors meet, the one that has been there since the start of the year is on the right Sabbath schedule for that location and the one who arrived recently would have to switch. If they both arrived at the same time from different directions then they would have to wait until the start of the year to know. If they moved slowly enough (over many years) then they would probably be synced up before they even met.

Lunar Sabbath calendars synchronize every month where as Solar Calendars only synchronize once per year. In both cases there are “transition days” that adjust when the weekly Sabbath occurs for a particular location on earth.

Conclusion

The Solar calendars are fundamentally incompatible with the week of the cross and they ignore many Scriptures that tell us the moon is for the appointed times. This means the true calendar must use the moon and index the sabbath from the start of each Lunar month. The Saturday Sabbath is a logically impossible given different migration paths and is entirely a tradition of man that is not synchronized or witnessed by the sun, moon, and stars.
