Rebuke of Watchmen who Cry Wolf
I am going to open with a statement that we can all make mistakes and that I myself have made mistakes. Starting last July through November I was giving “watch days” every feast day for my family. As recently as one month ago I was projecting an October 4/5th date which I have since moved to October 9th and increased my confidence level to 99%. The point of this post is that I moved my watch date after invalidating my prior date and that my date was “far” in the future compared to everyone else who is looking mere weeks ahead.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but having itching ears, they shall heap to themselves teachers in accordance with their own lusts. — 2 Timothy 4:3
There are countless people who are looking for the day of the rapture and are constantly looking toward every feast day and anniversary date in the Bible. I use to be one of these people. As each predicted day passes they move to the next feast day and look for as many verses in the Bible to rationalize that day as possible. Rather than trying to understand what the Bible is saying they are looking for Bible verses to justify the next closest date on the horizon.
“short-term watch dates” and seasonal studies may gain more views and revenue but that isn’t supposed to be our goal.
Woe to you who are longing for the day of YHVH, For what purpose will the day of YHVH be to you? It will be darkness and not light; — Amos 5:18
The end result is what my family has described as “rapture watch fatigue”. Eventually most tune out the watchmen and when a sign in heaven does appear and the scriptures are unsealed for our understanding everyone will be numb to the warnings. The damage may already be done.
What is the difference between the person who declares almost every day a watch date and the person who doesn’t watch at all? In both cases there is no distinction between an ordinary day and the day we are looking for. You cannot claim to be watching just because you make frequent predictions, if anything it means you don’t even know what you are looking for. If you eventually “guess right” it doesn’t mean anything to anyone because you never presented the case from scripture proving a single date, but instead attempted to demonstrate that scripture can be twisted to support any date thereby nullifying its prophetic power in the eyes of many.
Have you ever asked a child to find something and they bring you a dozen different things that look nothing like what you asked? That is what many watchmen are doing.
We are not commanded to watch for the “rapture” we are commanded to watch for the “sword” and not with excitement but with sorrow.
But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. — Ezekiel 33:6
Here is the key, the watchman is expected to blow the trumpet. How can a watchman blow the trumpet if he doesn’t know when to blow??! And if he blows the trumpet while not knowing then it is like pulling a fire alarm over and over until people start ignoring it. When there really is a fire everyone will not run outside but put on head phones and continue with life.
We are commanded to watch for the “thief”, not the rapture. People don’t need to be warned about the rapture, they need to be warned by blowing the trumpet about the coming sudden destruction.
Many people are waiting until they see the rapture of their Christian friends before repenting thinking that going through the tribulation won’t be that bad and that they will repent after seeing that miracle disappearance. Imagine the disappointment when they die before even realizing the rapture happened.
“No One Knows the Day or the Hour”
The pour watchmen community has taken a beating over the past 7 years since the revelation 12 sign because year after year people have been proclaiming high-watch dates that come and go. Many rebuke the watchmen by claiming no one knows the day or the hour and so the watchmen retreat into the “safe” position of saying “but we can know the season or the year”.
The watchmen just gave up the high ground and adopted a limiting false belief that they cannot know the day or hour. Then they promote “watch dates” without accountability to the expectation of getting it right. If they are wrong they simply say “no one can know so any prediction I make is merely an educated guess”.
If you believe no one can know the day or hour then you should not be promoting watch dates. And if you believe that someone can know the day or the hour then you will have a much higher threshold for issuing a watch date. By issuing many watch dates which are proven wrong, listeners will have to assume your understanding of the scripture and history is unreliable and while some may know, you do not.
Furthermore, when a watchman is wrong they must do a deep dive and identify what facts or logic errors they made. It is like a math teacher telling a student they have the wrong answer and the student makes another guess without identifying the mistake. Their next guess may repeat the same mistake. It is like a scientist that doesn’t learn from his experiment.
Lastly when someone does believe they know, our response should be to test their claim and prove with scripture why they must be wrong and if we can’t prove it wrong, then we should let it stand and start blowing the trumpet with them.
Instead many will claim “you must be wrong because no one can know”. Or they rebuke you for blowing a trumpet as if no one will ever know with enough certainty to actually blow the trumpet. People have to attack these people for making a claim rather than disproving the claim because their deep underlying belief is no one can know therefore no one can disprove anything…. any theory “could be true”.
We can Know the Day and Hour
And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. — Luke 12:39
By watching the goodman would discover the hour and not suffer his house to be broken through because he could sound the alarm in time for help to show up.
Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. — Revelation 3:3
This could easily imply that if you watch then you could know what hour. It only limits “not knowing” to those who do not watch (and the wicked). The wicked can watch all they want and will not find it.
If you are projecting every feast day as a “potential date” then you don’t know the hour and you need to get back to your studies (watching) until you know the hour. Then once your study confirms the date you issue a warning and blow the trumpet as loud as you can.
Nothing says you cannot share your study theories with people, but sharing a study is different than sounding an alarm, declaring a high watch date, and blowing the trumpet. When sharing a study you should identify what information you are missing that prevents you from sounding the alarm. You should also identify as many potentially conflicting scriptures as possible.
The Wise Shall Understand
none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. — Daniel 12:10
If you are seeking wisdom in faith then you will understand and know with near certainty as lead by the Holy Spirit. If you are not seeking certainty but are content with loose speculation then you cannot find what you are not looking for and what you do not have faith to receive.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! — Matthew 7
If you ask for wisdom and have faith that He will provide it, and put your best effort to obtain it then He will give you good gifts.
A critical component to understanding is eliminating sin from your life as best you can and seeking to follow even the least of His commands as an expression of your love for him. If you fall into the category of wicked or lawless then, according to the Bible, you will not and cannot understand.
I do not believe and certainly pray that knowing the day and hour is not a salvation issue and I believe there is a range between the wise and the wicked. For example, you can be ignorant and innocent like a child and be raptured.
I think many people will fall into the following category:
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ — Matt 7:21
If you are not confident in your knowing of the date after praying and believing in faith that he will reveal it to you, and after due effort to study; then, in humility, you should consider the possibility that it is a warning that He may say he never knew you despite all the wonderful things you did in his name. Perhaps you are in willful rebellion to some of his commands. Or maybe it isn’t the time to know yet and you can keep studying, but you should never set a watch date or blow a trumpet in this state.
In any event, if you are looking at a watch date that is just days away and you do not have certainty of that date then alarm bells should be sounding in your brain! It means that you think the thief could be “at the door” but you haven’t truly blown the trumpet! That is a key to study harder and urgently to rule out or confirm.
Some people may blow the trumpet as quietly as they can like a singer with stage fright hoping that no one will notice they blew the trumpet if they happen to be wrong.
If you are not changing your life because of the “high watch date” then you shouldn’t be proclaiming a watch date. This isn’t fantasy football where we get points for “guessing right”.
Testing a Date
When anyone presents a date we should have a series of tests we put the date through before even considering it.
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. — 1 Co 15:52
- How is it on the Last Day?
- How is it on the Last Trump?
- How is it tied to “In a Moment”?
- How is Joel 2:15–16 interpreted?
- How is it connected to Revelation 7?
- How does it square with midpoint at Passover?
- How does it align with signs described in the Bible found in the sun, moon, and stars?
Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly (ʿăṣārâ): Gather (rapture) the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and infants: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. — Joel 2:15–16
In a Moment
The same people that look at every feast day are the ones who first revealed to me the meaning of “In a moment”. It is always in reference to being consumed and destruction.
So we know with high probability that the rapture will occur in the midst of sudden and quick destruction. This means that any theory of the rapture that occurs in an otherwise “peaceful” day is inconsistent with this verse.
Setting a Date of October 9th (Israel)
All of that said, I am sounding the Alarm for the coming Sword as loud as I can for October 9 because in my opinion scripture confirms that date as plainly as anyone could possibly ask for and then a sign in the heavens that is nothing short of miraculous occurs on that very day.
Could I be wrong? Yes I could. I welcome any evidence that can counteract my conclusions. What scriptures are inconsistent with the interpretation and how do you interpret the sign?
Scripture led me to the day, and the sign confirmed it and now I am stepping out in faith and blowing the alarm.
Part of blowing the alarm is calling out watchmen distracting people with false dates that are trivial to disprove with scripture.

Calendar Chaos
Most agree that 2024 fits the available evidence, so it is reasonable to blow the alarm for the year and get ready for something big this year.
The next thing that we must prove or disprove is that everything goes down on the Hebrew calendar date of 7/22 then the debate about how to map 7/22 to the Gregorian calendar can be had.
I believe I have made a compelling case for a Full Moon start of month based upon all of the most important heavenly signs aligning from the birth, circumcision, death, and revelation 12, and the sign of the horsemen falling feast days on the full moon calendar, but the circumcision, death, revelation 12, and horsemen sign do not fall on appointed times of the sliver moon.
However, if you are not 100% confident of your calendar then you shouldn’t be setting watch dates in Gregorian.
I see people talking about “blood moons” on feast days to give those days meaning, but if your calendar is wrong then those blood moons are not on the feast days you think. In my opinion, all these Purim blood moons are on “New Moon” day at the start of the year. They are marking the year for blood. This puts Passover and first day of Tabernacles on a much more significant solar eclipses.
The problem is we cannot use relatively common signs, such as blood moons, to prove anything about a calendar because the “meaning” of the sign depends on the calendar. Now if you follow a calendar like the Dead Sea Scroll and these blood moons fall on random non-feast days then that should cause you some pause. But if two calendars both have blood moons on feast days then no new information is gained.
That said, New Moon days directly created by YHVH should probably trump Purim created by the decree of men. Not to downplay the potential importance of Purim, but simply ranking it lower than New Moon days, especially ones at the start of the year.
