Hanukkah Judgment Day and Rapture, December 17
After my last post I decided to dig deeper into Hanukkah, and in particular the 8th day, December 17, 2024. I would like to thank all of you who posted comments that brought new things to my attention. I would also like to thank Steve from Torah Family and Dr. Barry Awe for his research into Hanukkah which provided some other useful insights which I am sharing here.
Enoch Pronounced Hanoch
Enoch means to “Dedicate” and in Hebrew is pronounced just like Hanukkah which is sometimes spelled Chanukkah to capture the guttural ‘H’
And Enoch walked with God: and he was not(nothing); for God took him. — Genesis 5:24
This is the first documented “rapture” in the Bible. He was raptured because he “walked with Yah”. This puts a ton of meaning in the very name of the feast of Chanukkah.
Enoch Vanishes
Speaking of Enoch “vanishing”, If you haven’t seen my word-by-word, letter-by-letter, translation of Daniel 9:26 then you should check out the following translation.
What is interesting is that the word “sanctify” associated with the “vanishing/nothing/rapture” in Daniel 9 is translated as “dedicated(5)” and “sanctuary (68)”, almost like “dedicating a sanctuary or temple”, the very purpose of Chanukkah.
Hanukkah is About Having Sufficient Oil
The Talmud introduces the tradition of lighting candles to commemorate the “Miracle of Oil” where they only had enough for one night but it managed to last 8 nights. The wise virgins had oil for the lamps.
“Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps” — Mat 25:1–13
This “miracle of oil” was only recorded 500+ years after the event, so many doubt whether it was a later addition or myth. The oldest texts written at the time of Hanukkah clearly document it as a second Feast of Tabernacles held in the 9th month. The Jews call it Kislev, but I refrain from using those names because they were inherited from Babylon and include the names of foreign gods like Tammuz which the bible speaks against.
“And now see that you keep the Feast of Tabernacles in the month Kislev (9th).” — 2 Maccabees 1:9
“Therefore whereas we are now purposed to keep the purification of the Temple upon the 25th day of the (9th) month Kislev, we thought it necessary to notify you thereof, that ye also might keep it, as the of the feast tabernacles, and of the fire when Nehemiah offered sacrifice, after that he had built the Temple, and the Slaughter-Place.” — 2 Maccabees 1:18
The oldest texts clearly identify it as a second tabernacles. The timing of this second tabernacles was based upon the supernatural victory of the Maccabees which Yah was in complete control.
On the anniversary of the day on which the temple had been profaned by the foreigners, that is, the 25th of the same (9th) month Kislev, the purification of the temple took place. The Jews celebrated joyfully for eight days as on the feast of Booths, remembering how, a little while before, they had spent the feast of Booths living like wild animals in the mountains and in caves. Carrying rods entwined with leaves, beautiful branches and palms, they sang hymns of grateful praise to Him who had successfully brought about the purification of his own place. By public decree and vote they prescribed that the whole Jewish nation should celebrate these days every year. Such was the end of Antiochus surnamed Epiphanes. — 2 Maccabees 10:5
And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before YHWH your God seven days. — Leviticus 23:40
History of December 17th
This year, on the Full Moon calendar starting the first full moon after spring equinox, the 8th day of Chanukkah falls on December 17th in Jerusalem. Here are some major events in History that also occured on December 17th.
1979: President Jimmy Carter walked to Lafayette Square from the White House to participate in the first National Menorah Lighting, in celebration of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.

Yeshua hints at Winter Nuclear War
And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him. But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. —
For if they do these things in a green (wet, full of sap) tree (summer), what shall be done in the dry (withered) (winter)? Luke 23:27–31
Hiroshima was in the Summer, on the “9th of Av”, …. what will happen in the winter.
And the kings of the earth, the great men, [j]the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 16and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” — Revelation 6:15–17
Yeshua also told us to pray that the flight after the desolation of abomination will not be in winter. If we are told to pray and He answers prayers, then 3 and a half years before this event would have to be winter.
So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination’s desolation,’ described by the prophet Daniel (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains…
19How miserable those days will be for pregnant and nursing mothers! Pray that your flight will not occur in the winter or on the Sabbath. 21For at that time there will be great tribulation, unmatched from the beginning of the world until now, and never to be seen again. 22If those days had not been cut short, nobody would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, those days will be cut short.

Notice also how there is a connection between Mat 24:19 and Luke 23:27 regarding pregnant and nursing mothers.
The days of our (Israel’s) lives are 70 years (as Jubilees); And if by reason of strength they are 80 years, Yet their boast (end) is only labor (travail, rapture birth) and (beginning of) sorrows; For it is soon cut off (cut short), and we fly away (to the wilderness to be cared for 1260 days). — Psalms 90:10 (interpreted)
Understanding the 70 Years as Jubilees
Seventy periods of seven (2 or more sevens, aka 7 sevens, or a Jubilee) are determined for your people and for your holy city, to shut up the transgression, and to seal up (complete) sins, and to cover iniquity, and to bring in continuous righteousness (rapture), and to seal up (complete) vision and prophet, and to anoint (smear oil for purpose of consecration and dedicate) the Holy (consecrate/dedicate) of Holies (dedicated (plural)). — Daniel 9:24 Literal Standard Version
Notice that these 70 periods of 7 are compared to the 70 years that Jeremiah says that everything he has written must be fulfilled, aka the vision and prophet (Jeremiah) must be sealed up and completed.
And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith YHWH for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations. And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations. — Jeremiah 25
In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of YHWH came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish 70 years in the desolations of Jerusalem…. Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding (of the 70 years) — Daniel 9:2, 22
42 Months of Non-Jews Trampling Jerusalem
for it (the outer court of the temple) is given unto the Gentiles (greek: ethnos meaning heathen, race, nation, non-Jewish tribe): and the holy city (Jerusalem) shall they tread under foot 42 months. And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy (1260 days clothed in sackcloth). — Revelation 11:2–3
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great shaking; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; — Revelation 6:12
If Jerusalem is to be trampled by gentiles/nations for 42 months, then before and after that 42 months it must be free from being trampled by gentiles. The greek word translated as “Gentiles” is “ethnos” Since the Jews are currently in control of Jerusalem, then we would expect the Jews to lose control for 42 months. Furthermore, we know that at the Abomination’s desolation the Jews flee into the wilderness in haste, presumably because Jerusalem is about to be destroyed along with the abomination, aka Dome of the Rock. If the Jews flee that must mean that no one is left in Jerusalem or else it would continue to be trampled by the Gentiles and the 42 months would continue.
Traditional teaching is that Israel will have 3.5 years of peace with sacrifices offered in the temple, but I don’t understand how that is compatible with Revelation 11:2 with Jerusalem being “trampled, destroyed, crushed” by “non-Jews” for 42 months. What is more is that the outer court is currently mostly off limits to Jews, even though the Jews control all of Jerusalem; therefore, this verse must be referring to all of Jerusalem and not just the outer court.
42 Months of trampling before the abomination implies that Jerusalem may no longer be part of the state of Israel. Israel will continue to be a state with Jews living in Judea in sorrow until its 80th birthday when they flee. If we are to count 42 months from the 2nd month of 2028, then you will start with the 10th month of 2024. If this interpretation is correct, then the Jews will likely be at war for 3.5 years, a war that ultimately ends with the destruction of the temple mount, the Dome of the Rock, and Jerusalem left uninhabitable for a period with neither Jew nor Gentile.
When Does Jerusalem Fall to Gentiles
Again in the 9th year, in the 10th month, in the 10th day of the month, the word of YHWH came unto me, saying, Son of man, write down the name of this day, this very day. The king of Babylon has laid siege to Jerusalem this very day. — Ezekiel 24
Yah made a point of Ezekiel recording the date, which means this must me important for some future generation. The King of Babylon could be referring to Persia (Iran) or mystery Babylon. Since I believe Mystery Babylon is the USA and Mystery Babylon will fall on the Day of YHWH in a single hour, then I must conclude that this passage is referring to the ruler of Iran/Muslim Empire. Iran would be in a perfect position to take Jerusalem if the USA, Jordan’s Ally, were to be removed from the world stage.
The 10th month and the 10th day would be Christmas this year and fall 7 days after the 8th day of Chanukkah.
